We offer you a wine tour to the East of Georgia and a unique opportunity to participate in the grape harvesting and winemaking processes. During this tour, you will visit the traditional wine region Kakheti. You will discover small wineries with a thousand-year -old Georgian traditional technology, as well as established wineries that produce world famous brands. You will have an amazing opportunity to learn about different ways of winemaking and taste many local wines and dishes. The Royal City, the city of love, Sighnaghi is one of the cities of the Great Silk Road, surrounded by protective walls with 23 towers. To visit Kakheti and not to visit this beautiful city is simply impossible. By the way, only in Sighnaghi there is a 24-hour Wedding House where a couple can get married in ten minutes, and get an international certificate If you are looking for natural products, Matsoni House is the right place for you. So in this amazing culinary trip we will taste this ancient tradition of Georgian cuisine. Georgian ancient wine making method has already been granted intangible cultural heritage status by UNESCO.

Itinerary

Day 1
Tbilisi – Sighnaghi – Kvareli

In the morning, you will set off to the very East of Georgia to the lovely city of Sighnaghi. The most romantic city of Georgia is famous for its old Georgian architectural style, amazing views on Alazani Valley and the longest castle wall in Georgia. You will have a short excursion in Sighnaghi. After that, you will go down to Alazani valley and reach the wine village of Velistsikhe. You will visit ‘Numisi’ winery. It is a 500-year-old cellar and a museum. You will see every instrument, which is used in the wine making process. A museum guide will tell you about the technology, how qvevri wine was made by ancestors of Georgian people and how they managed to keep that technology and make wine in the same way today. Then, Numisi professional cooks will give master classes for you (additional cost - 20$ / per master-class).

We offer different master classes such as:

  • Bread making
  • Churchkhela making
  • Khinkali making
  • Mtsvadi making

You can choose, order and pay on site.

After that, you will have lunch and you will taste amazing masterpieces of Georgian cuisine. 

 In the evening, you will arrive in Kvareli. Stay the night in Kvareli.

Day 2
Kvareli – Alaverdi - Tbilisi

In the morning, you will visit a unique winery of Khareba – the wine tunnel in the rock, where you will have wine degustation.  After this, you will visit the “Twin’s winery”, which is famous for its wine museum where you will have an excursion.

After that you will visit Alaverdi, where you will see one of the greatest cathedrals in Georgia – Alaverdi cathedral from the XI c. Afterwards, you will visit Matsoni House. Matsoni is a pure Georgian traditional type of yogurt. You will taste different kinds of yogurt, which will surprise you with its different and marvelous taste. “This is a calm place, where tourists and other guests can taste Tushetian cheese, Deka tea, local wine and natural juice made from fresh fruit. Our matsoni is really a very special one``.

In the evening, you will go back to Tbilisi.
