Batumi

Batumi is one of the oldest cities in Georgia founded as early as BC. Its initial form – Batus – had already been mentioned in the 4th century BC.

This city has always been distinguished by favorable natural and strategic location.

From 18th century the city was under the Ottoman rule. In 1918 and 1920 the city was governed by the Ottomans and the British respectively.

Interesting historical past has considerably preconditioned architectural diversity of this city.

This city is the second largest city of Georgia, located on the coast of the Black Sea in the southwest Georgia. Situated in a subtropical zone near the foot of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, It’s a popular tourist destination.

The city is lined with palm trees and surrounded by mountains. with its’ 180 000 population, Batumi is the region’s touristic and gambling capital.

It presents an eclectic mix of architecture, ranging from charming 19th century classical edifices to ultra-modern skyscraper hotels and casinos.

Batumi Georgia has a vibrant night life, hosting increasingly big name international DJs and pop concerts.

The Black Sea city welcomes visitors from across different regions – as of 2015, most tourists fly in from locations as diverse as Russia, Israel, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Lithuania and others. From year to year this city is becoming more and more interesting for local and foreign travelers.
