DAY 1.Arrival in Tbilisi


DAY 2.Tbilisi - Davit Gareji - Sighnaghi - Bodbe / Night Sighnaghi

In the morning we go to the cave complex David Gareji, located in the semi-desert landscape. This monastery was founded in the 6th century by the Desert Father David. Later it grew and consisted of 19 monasteries. It was one of the main spiritual and cultural centers of Georgia. We will visit the fortified town Sighnaghi (17th century) and enjoy the magnificent views of the Caucasus Mountains.

DAY 3.Sighnaghi – Grammy - Nekresi - Alaverdi - Tsinandali - Tbilisi / Tbilisi Night

We’re going to continue to Kakheti. We will visit the complex Gremi, Alaverdi Cathedral (11th century), Ikalto Monastery (6th century). In Tsinandali we visit a winery and see the unique 300 -year-old wine cellar. We get acquainted with Georgian wine making, which is quite different from the European one, and try traditional Georgian red and white wines. Evening arrival in Tbilisi.

DAY 4.Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uflistsihe - Gori - Akhaltsikhe / Night Akhaltsikhe

In the morning we will visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia – Mtskheta (3000 years), one of the oldest and most beautiful cities of Georgia. We will visit the Temple Djvari (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century), where Christ’s apparel was buried. Both Djvari and Mtskheta are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Today we will also visit Uplistsikhe cave city (1st millennium BC). We will visit the fortress Atskuri (9th century). Evening arrival in Akhaltsikhe.

DAY 5.Akhaltsikhe - Khertvisi - Vardzia - Tbilisi / Tbilisi Night

In the morning, we begin to explore Mesheti region. In Akhaltsikhe we will visit the fortress of Rabat, and then we go to the cave city Vardzia (12th century), which is one of the highlights of the trip . There once were about 3,000 caves and 50,000 people lived there. We visit the church carved into the rock with amazing frescoes of the 12th century. After that we will visit Vanis Kvabebi, which was a monastery in the 7th century. We will also visit Khertvisi fortress (10th century). Evening arrival in Tbilisi.
