The Museum of Modern Art in Baku is home to an impressive collection of more than 800 art pieces. Most of the displays in the museum are avant-garde in nature representing the work of Azerbaijan’s finest painters and sculptors of all time.
The collection at the Museum of Modern Art includes the work of Ashraf Murad, Fazil Najafov, and Rasim Babayev. These artists came of age during the 1960s and 1970s, and most of their masterpieces are inspired by the Absheron Peninsula’s colors and climate. You’ll also find the remarkable works of some of Europe’s most famous artists, such as Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, and Pablo Picasso.
The building where the Museum of Modern Art is housed has a magnificent façade. Featuring contemporary style architecture, it’s designed to be spacious and open, where no walls or corridors would stop the visual flow. Aside from the museum, there’s also a library, children’s room, restaurant, and an art cafe inside this modern building.
