Gudauri ski resort is a small touristic settlement and ski mountain resort located on the southern slopes of the Lesser Caucuses range of Georgia. Gudauri lies 120 km to the north of the capital Tbilisi and two hour drive from the Tbilisi International Airport. Gudauri is a ski resort located on the south-facing plateau of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Kazbegi region. The resort is situated along the Georgian Military Highway near the Cross Pass, at an elevation of 2,200 meters above sea level with skiable area enjoying maximum exposure to the sun.

Gudauri ski resort offers high quality skiing opportunities. The total length of Gudauri ski runs exceeds 57 kilometres and meets the highest international standards. Resort ski tracks are for all levels of skiers, from beginners to experts and professionals. There are tracks for slalom, giant slalom, super giant and downhill. In Gudauri, the base lift is situated over 2,200 meters above sea level and the top lift is at 3,285 meters. Resort is served by the comfortable lifts made by the Austrian company Doppelmayer. Their capacity amounts to 8 thousand people ensuring the absence of queues. The ski season lasts from December to April.

Heliskiing provides skiers with access to some of the finest powder-snow in the Caucasus. With helicopters granted almost unrestricted access to local mountains, skiers can experience some of the most sublime runs in Europe - at altitudes between 1,500 and 4,200 meters above sea level. The helicopters drop clients off on mountain tops, glaciers, fabulous ridges, and in the hands of highly experienced guides.

Heliskiing is available throughout the season.

Gudauri Ski Resort is an ideal place for extreme sports lovers - Freeridering and Heliskiing (skiing in virgin snow whereby each skier follows parallel trail). Deep and dry snow for Freeriders is the most important factor. From European resorts Heli-skiing is possible only in Georgia.

When does the ski season start?

Here, the mountain slopes are covered with snow for 4-5 months, from December to late April, and provide great opportunities for snowboarding. The average snow depth on these slopes reaches 2.5 m.
