First location is Geghard Monastery Complex which is unique with its meaning and value, it is carved in the mountain dated from 4th to 13th centuries. This Monastery Complex is very well preserved and it is amazing example of middle ages Armenian architecture and decorative art. This place is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Second destination is the temple of Garni. It is dated from 1st century and the architecture is ancient Roman style. This temple was used by sun worshipers. Near the temple you will explore ancient baths with 5 rooms and mosaic floor with paintings of ancient Greek Mythology. Near that place you will also explore natural monuments – Symphony of Stones, which was created by the flows of Lava.
Not far from the Garni village you will explore how local people make traditional Lavash – thin, flatbread which is in the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. You will have a chance to taste it with homemade cheese.
Lunch at one of the restaurants which serve delicious dishes of genuine Armenian cuisine.
Then you will move forward to Lake Sevan - one of the largest high-mountainous fresh water lakes in the world. Its transparent waters are capable of changing color: when it is sunny it gets turquoise, in windy weather the water turns grey, at night – silvery. After admiring these breathtaking views we will rise up to Sevanavank - an ancient monastery complex located on the top of the peninsula. This monastery was constructed in the 9th century and includes only two temples – Holy Apostles and Holy Mother of God, standing among numerous khachkars. Back to Yerevan.
