The Yerevan History Museum was established as a communal museum in 1931. Today, it houses a collection of over 94,000 objects representing the local culture of Armenia. The building where the museum is housed is located beside the Yerevan City Hall.
The collections at the Yerevan History museum represents Armenia’s local culture dating back to the ancient times up until today. These include fine arts, photography, written records, numismatics, ethnography, and archaeology. Kept in the storage of the museum, these objects tell an interesting story of the past and present of Yerevan and its people.
